Responsibilities and Expectations
- Create an inviting and gracious atmosphere for visitors to the office and on the phone.
- Perform guest and phone reception duties with a positive and helpful spirit.
- Direct callers to the appropriate ministry.
- Respond to calls and inquiries in a polite and timely manner.
- Announce or introduce guests to staff.
- Administer messages left with the call center and emails received by info@thecross.com.
- Maintain the hospital list and schedule pastors/ministers for visitation.
- Administer mail and postage services.
- Support copier and workroom equipment servicing and supplies.
- Inventory and place orders for office supplies.
- Organize accounts payable records.
- Assist with general administrative tasks as needed upon request.
- Steward church resources with care, such as furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, and other resources.
- Attend a worship service, staff meetings, ministry team meetings and any other meetings weekly.
- Foster a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with staff, volunteers, and church families.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Critical Skills
- Agreement with The Cross Church’s faith statement and mission to spread His fame by making disciples of all people.”
- Committed to biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.
- Established pattern of Bible study and prayer.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Ability to use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to serve where needed.
- Strong written and oratory skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Relational, self-motivated, strong work ethic, organized, dependable, reliable and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Competency in computer/web-based technology with the capacity to learn new applications quickly.
- The Cross Church membership is expected.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- Sufficient good health to discharge duties properly.
- Passing criminal, financial, and sexual misconduct background checks required.
